the Original Bike Club 2018

We’ve created a very different kind of road and mountain bike club: a novice/intermediate cycling club to help you 

start or progress your cycling ability while having a fantastic riding experience. Our 

club is the ultimate introduction to the world of cycling; our leaders will help guide you on your way to becoming a more confident and capa

ble cyclist.

Also, NEW for 2018 is our mountain bike rides. We cater to the beginner and intermediate mountain biker and rides will be led by Ryan, our General Manager,  NCCP Level 2 coach and Muddbunnies Founder, on Burnaby Mountain and Eagle Mountain in Port Moody. All trails are mountain or cyclocross bike friendly and will last approx 2 hours. Young rippers welcome!

Ladies Veloce Rides

Ladies, if you like the camaraderie of club rides but also want a good workout, this is the ride for you! We will aim for an average pace of up to 25 km/hr however it will be a no-drop ride, and the goal will be fun and good coffee.

Wednesday Hump Day Rides

Are you looking to get over the Wednesday hump in the week? Come out and join Ambassador Jon EVERY WEDNESDAY for the new and improved "hump ride" . This route will take you into the hills of New West, Coquitlam and Burnaby

With this ride, it is not race, you will challenge yourself each week as you ride the same route. “It’s not a race” The concept is to complete a set route. Everyone starts off at the same time and riders challenge themselves to see how quickly they can complete the route. No Ride Leader. 30km / 2-3hrs /

The Momentum Ride 

Keep it up! For all those who attended our cake rides and anyone else new to cycling – we want to help you continue to enjoy cycling and help you towards your goals. This ride is a great way to socialise with other cyclists and explore some low-traffic cycling routes. 40-70km / 2-3 hrs /

SNOB RIDE - Crowning of Fred & Doris

A tongue-in-cheek 20km coffee ride where judgement on adhering to "the Rules" is of utmost importance. Carbon bikes only, proper sock length and peer judgement all around. Those with the lowest score on "the Rules Score-card" will be crowned that days Fred and Doris and a prize for best dressed female and male will be handed out.
Meet at the Laughing Men in Stanley Park for a 2 lap ride.

Additional Clubs:

We have added two additional factions which are available to all club members: the Original Triathlon Club and the Original Adventure Club. 

  • the Triathlon Training Club is not an official provincial tri club but provides new and aspiring beginner/intermediate triathletes meetup opportunities to train together. We will also be hosting 3 events, partnering with coaches who will isolate each of the 3 sports involved: swim, bike and run.

  • the Adventure Club shares the ethos of our ride club. Our goal is to help people who have aspirations to go on cycling adventures but who may lack off-road touring knowledge, experience, confidence or companions to do it. We will be organising 4 adventure trips throughout 2018.
